This villa is quintessential Siena, just outside the city with a view over the rooftops and spires and domes of this beautiful Tuscan city and the Torre del Mangia thrusting into the sky like a lance. The villa is on a lovely country road in an enclosed estate behind tall gates and there are farm buildings on the property where they make their own olive oil and where the staff is housed. This is a perfect perch from which to descend into Siena or to visit the surrounding countryside, home to some of Italy's finest wines. The famous "Palio" horse race in the main square takes place three times a year in summer, while in July the music festival in the Palazzo Chigi-Saraceni attracts musicians and music-lovers from all over the world.
Villa Pantanino is ideal for large groups who may want to explore or laze about separately during the day and join up as a wonderful house party in the evening. It has a swimming pool within its gardens and for those more energetic, tennis is available nearby. There is a web of country lanes spanning out around the villa, ideal for a country stroll in the typically uplifting Tuscan countryside, past other stately residences above Siena, the most famous of all being the Villa Belcaro.
Villa Pantanino has three floors. On the ground floor are a formal entrance foyer, a library with painted ceiling and fireplace, a dining room with decorated ceiling and walls, a small dining room and a kitchen with fireplace. There is also a powder room on this floor.
One flight up there are 5 bedrooms (three with double beds and 2 with twin beds), a living room and three baths.
On the top floor there are two bedrooms (one double and one twin), a large laundry room and a large full bath.
The price includes maid service two hours a day five days a week from Monday to Friday.
